Major Neuroscience
Spokesperson: Prof. Dr. Dierk Reiff
The "Neuroscience" major provides intensive basic training and offers a variety of opportunities for further development and specialization, corresponding to the multidisciplinary expertise of our faculty. In the first year, two comprehensive modules cover important substance and methods of modern neuroscience. Building on this knowledge, for the second year we offer the possibility of specialization in Systemic Neurophysiology, Developmental Neurobiology, Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience or Applied Neuroscience. The study program is concluded with a master thesis in the chosen field of specialization.
This can be done in the faculty of biology, in institutes of the medical faculty oriented toward neuroscience research, across-faculty research facilities of the university of Freiburg such as the Bernstein Center Freiburg and the cluster of excellence BrainLinks-BrainTools. We welcome highly qualified applicants to join us in the quest for better understanding brain function and brain disorders.
