Sound and noise surround people daily at every moment, yet the human ear does not always perceive them. That's not the case for 300 measurement stations set up by University of Freiburg researchers – whether they're in parks and meadows or alongside streets and rivers. The geobotany project called "Soundscape" records the noises and sounds of specific surroundings. Using computer programs, the researchers then analyze the data to document how landscapes change and develop over longer periods of time.
